Cruisers who want to experience the thrill of offshore sailing without the potential risks of "going it alone" can join Nautech Enterprises' cruising rally to Nova Scotia this summer. The fleet will gather at Wayfarer Marina in Camden, Maine on July 11, and, weather permitting, will depart July 15 following safety inspections, weather and routing briefings and a number of social events. They will set course for historic Shelburne, where the sailors will have time to explore and enjoy a planked salmon dinner. From Shelburne the fleet will head to Halifax for a two-day stay at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron, with ample opportunity to sample this city's vibrant night life, cultural entertainments and fine cuisine. The fleet will arrive in the Bras d'Or Lakes on July 25, or thereabouts, where Dundee Marina will treat them to a feast of snow crab. Following a day or two of festivities, participants can cruise home or further explore the beautiful coastlines of Maritime Canada.
Nautech Enterprises has been leading successful cruising rallies on the Eastern Seaboard for four years, providing novice and seasoned sailors alike with adventure, camaraderie, and convenience. If there is enough interest from sailors with yachts already in Nova Scotia, Nautech will be happy to rally a fleet in the Bras D'Or for the cruise back to Maine.
